The county government will host an opportunity to dispose of unwanted materials at no charge at the transfer station on Friday, from 7 a.m. until 3 p.m. and Saturday from 7 a.m. until 11 a.m. The transfer station is located at L Willis Rd.
Items that will not be accepted include tires; hazardous chemicals; dirt, including silage plastic; wet drywall; manure; dead animals, concrete; rocks; stacks of lumber; steel cables; burning barrels; capacitors; and tanks, including acetylene, oxygen, and propane.
Paints will be accepted, but only if it has been dried with either sand or cat litter.
Anyone with a large load will be expected to help unload.
