Bernice Bennett Wisdom, 76, of Edmonton, passed away Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at Shanti Niketan Hospice Home in Glasgow. She was born on June 18, 1947 in Adair County to the late Frank Clifton and Nora Alice Bragg Bennett.
Ms. Wisdom was a member of the Morris Chapel United Methodist Church and attended Pleasant Ridge Church. She enjoyed flower gardening and spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors include a daughter, Jan Shive (Chris) of Edmonton; a grandson, Gage Hunter Shive of Edmonton; two sisters, Delsie Gibson of Scipio, Ind. and Virginia Coomer (Garry) of Edmonton; her dog, Zoey: caregiver Paula Whitten; and several nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three siblings, Finley Harold Bennett, Lorene V. Bennett and Vernell Yates.
Funeral services will be held at noon on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with burial in the Morris Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday from 4 p.m.-8 p.m. and will continue Saturday until time for the service at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.
Bro. Carl Edwards and Bro. Nick Fields will officiate. Pallbearers are Jason Bennett, Matthew Blades, Tim Campbell, Barry Froedge, Jason Lacy, and Johnny Reece. Honorary pallbearers are Ronnie Bragg, Donnie Bragg, Chris Shive, Paul Whitten, Gage Shive, Tonya Reece and Tammy Haney.
