Connie Burress, 82, of the Milltown community, died Sunday, April 28, 2024 at 10:39 a.m. at Metcalfe Health Care Center in Edmonton.
She was born December 2, 1941 in Adair County to the late Richard and Elva Rogers Downey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Bobby Burress; her step-father, Horace Gabehart; and her brother, Larry Downey.
Connie was a faithful member of Milltown Church until her health failed, a member of the Portlandettes Homemaker Club, worked at Fruit of the Loom and was a Ward Clerk at Westlake Regional Hospital.
Survivors include two sons, Wally and his wife Laura Burress, and Bryan Burress, all of Columbia; one sister, Karen Roy of Richmond; one grandson, Austin Burris of Columbia; several other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at Milltown Church with Bro. Barney Taylor officiating.
Casket bearers were Billy Coffey, Glenn Breeding, Chuck Rogers, Mark Baker, Chris Dobson and Doug Sapp.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate a donation to Milltown Church or the donor’s favorite charity.
Grissom-Martin Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
