Edna Karnes, 78, of Columbia, died Friday, October 27, 2023.
She was born October 5, 1945, in Adair County, to the late Paul and Dorothy Buckner Curry. Edna was a member of Sparksville Church of the Nazarene and retired as an Instructional Aide from the Adair County School System. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Brady Karnes and a nephew, Brandon Burns.
Survivors include her husband, Lonny Karnes of Columbia; one son and daughter-in-law, Bradley and Cheryl Karnes of Columbia; one daughter and son-in-law, Lea Ann and Landon Parnell of Columbia; four grandchildren, Sarah DeWitt (Alex), Colton Parnell (Britney), Chloe Karnes, Jaxon Karnes; one great-granddaughter, Olivia Parnell; two sisters and brothers-in-l, Paula & Jeff Pyles of Green County, Mary Anna and Barney Burns of Columbia; several other relatives and friends.
Funeral service was held Tuesday, October 31 2023. at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home with Bro. Darrell Karnes and Bro. Darrell Pelston officiating with burial in Cane Valley Cemetery. Visitation was held on Monday.
Casket Bearers: Barney Burns, Randy Burns, Alex DeWitt, Colton Parnell, George Kenneth Pollard, Matthew Corbin, Roger Lacy.
