James Randall Lawson, age 80, of Lebanon, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 26, 2023 at Landmark Nursing and Rehab surrounded by his family.
He was born on July 11, 1943 in Lebanon, Kentucky to the late James Foster Lawson and Margaret Christine Hays Lawson. As an avid farmer, Randall toiled from dawn until dark, day in and day out. His farming wisdom was unparalleled and shared his knowledge generously. Not only was he a steward of the land, but he was also an exceptional salesman. However, it was his role as a loving father and grandfather that truly defined him. As a grandfather, he showered his grandchildren with affection, creating cherished memories and teaching life lessons.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, David Scott Lawson and grandson, Blake Lawson.
He was survived by his wife of 62 years, Connie Lawson of Lebanon; three sons, Terry Lawson of Lebanon, Sammy Lawson of Salem, Indiana, and Dan (Lisa) Lawson of Lebanon; five grandchildren, Ashley Lawson, Amanda (Alex) Luckett, Scott (Paige) Lawson, Hannah (Dustin) Pridgen, Bella Lawson; two sisters, Nita Barlett of Lebanon and Lucina “Cookie” Thomas of Louisville. Also surviving are ten great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services were held Tuesday, October 31, 2023 at Open Arms Community Church, 2205 Danville HWY, Lebanon, KY 40033; officiated by Rev. Clellan Hays. Interment followed in Ryder Cemetery.
Visitation was held Monday, October 30, 2023 at Bosley Funeral Home and Tuesday until the time of service at Open Arms Community Church on Tuesday, October 31, 2023.
Pallbearers are Ashley Lawson, Dominic Wayne, Amanda Luckett, Alex Luckett, Scott Lawson, Paige Lawson, Hannah Pridgen, Dustin Pridgen.
Honorary Pallbearers are Bella Lawson and Aubri Wayne.
