Lloyd Eugene “Gene” Curtis, Sr., 77, of Columbia, died Monday, January 23, 2023, at his home.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian Mae “Lynn” Curtis on Thursday, January 19, 2023. He formerly worked for Jennings County, Indiana, Water Company and Cox Interior. He was an accomplished Musician and was an excellent handyman.
Survivors include three children, Mary Kaye Graham of Columbia, Lloyd Eugene Curtis Jr., and Lori Ann Back both of Vernon, Ind.; two brothers-in-law, Jim A. Patton and Willie Patton both of Columbia; two sisters-in-law, Rosemary Harmon and Starr Tweedy both of Columbia; eight grandchildren, Amy Lynn Nichols, Mary Ellen Howard, Tyler, Britney, Baylee, Chrissy, Dalton and Wesley Curtis, and Justin Back; eight great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
The funeral service for Lynn and Gene Curtis will be Friday, January 27, 2023, at 11 a.m. at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, with Bro. Paul Patton officiating, burial in the Columbia Cemetery. Visitation after 5 p.m. Thursday.
