Marilyn Sparks Coffey, 86, of the Montpelier Community, died Thursday, May 2, 2024 at 4:13 a.m. at Wright Personal Care Home in Summersville.
She was born January 21, 1938 in Glensfork to the late Henry L. ‘Dick’ and Nellie Murrell Sparks. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Earl M. Coffey on on March 23, 2024 and the following siblings, Madeline Loy, Maxine Ulery, Margaret McFarland, Marcella Mudd, Montford Maylon Sparks.
Marilyn was a member of the former Pleasant Hill Christian Church and most recently attended Russell Springs Christian Church. She was retired from Farm Credit Services in Columbia and Campbellsville after 32 and a half years as office manager.
Survivors include one son, Shannon ‘Radar’ Coffey (Michelle) of Franklin, Ind.; two grandchildren, Alexis Carrillo (Justin) and Sawyer Coffey; one great-grandchildren, Rory Carrillo; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Gene and Lillie Coffey, Ada Coffey, Carl and June Coffey, Guinda and Bobby Miller and Ina Smith; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Sunday, May 5, 2024 at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home with Bro. Carroll Egnew and Bro. Don Emerson officiating and burial in Haven Hill Cemetery.
Casket bearers were Tyler Antle, Randy McFall, Jason McFarland, Richard Sparks, Kevin O’Dell and Dustin Ballenger.
Grissom-Martin Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
